KT3: Clinical Concepts and Advanced Whole Body Applications of the Kinesio Taping® Method (Pre-requisite, completion of KTA approved KT1 and KT2 courses) Upon completion, qualifies for KTA Level 3 Membership

The KT3 course combines the Kinesio Taping Method foundational concepts of KT1 & KT2 with advanced clinical concepts. The course provides lab time for attendees to practice their skills on the new concepts through a variety of clinical applications. The KT3 course is designed to allow the Certified Kinesio Taping Instructor (CKTI) to cater specific clinical applications to address specific professions. Upon completion of this course and prerequisite KT1&KT2 seminar, attendees will be eligible to request and take the exam to become a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP).

Note: Students can request to take the exam but will not be eligible to receive a CKTP certificate until they graduate.

Kinesio Taping® Course Fundamentals & Advanced (KT1 & KT2) are prerequisite for this course.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, including the lecture, demonstration and lab, the participant will be able to:

  • Review the basic concepts of the Kinesio Taping Method
  • Explain and apply advanced concepts of the Kinesio Taping Method
  • Review epidermis, dermis, and fascial anatomy as it is related to Kinesio Taping
  • Utilize and demonstrate application skills in guided laboratory sessions
  • Apply the Kinesio Taping Method to stimulate epidermis, dermis, and fascial response
  • Apply advanced clinical taping techniques for treatment of the spine, neurological conditions, and upper/lower extremity dysfunction

This course is accepted by many professional credentialing organizations and state professional regulatory boards. Rules and regulations change frequently without notification, and apply differently to live and online courses. Illinois State Board of Physical Therapy: Approved CE Sponsor by Illinois State Board of Physical Therapy, Division of Professional Regulations, Approval #216.000227. (Course must be taken prior to 09-30-2016)

Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners: This course meets the basic criteria of the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for 0.8 CEUs. (Course must be taken between 01-14-2014 and 01-13-2018)

New Jersey State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners: This course has been approved by the New Jersey State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for 8 continuing education credits, Approval #013-2014. (Course must be taken prior to 01-31-2016).

NJ Board of Chiropractic Examiners: This course is approved by the NJ Board of Chiropractic Examiners for 8 contact hours. Approval #12-1411. (Course must be taken between 09-1-2013 and 08-31-2015)

Nevada Board of Physical Therapy Examiners: This course has been approved by the Nevada State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for 0.85 units of continuing education. (Course must be taken between 09-10-2014 and 07-31-2016).

NY State Physical Therapy Board: Rehab Education, LLC is recognized as an approved provider of PT and PTA continuing education by the NY State Education Department Board of Physical Therapy. (Course must be taken prior to 05-10-2016)

Graceann G. Forrester PT, DPT, CKTI is a New York State licensed Physical Therapist. She has earned Bachelor’s degrees from College Miseracordia, Dallas PA and New York University. She completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy through Boston University.

In her 20 years of practice, Dr. Forrester has provided treatment programs for acute care patients, for community hospicare and youth correctional facilities. She has offered PT to elementary school children and taught clinical application classes for Ithaca College’s Physical Therapy program, Ithaca, NY. She uses her Certifications as a KinesioTaping Instructor, Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor to develop training regimens for competitive athletes of all ages. As a Board Member of Hope Unites, an international ecumenical organization specializing in humanitarian aid and disaster relief, Dr. Forrester has offered educational programming to improve transportation and therapeutic positioning for children with disabilities at an orphanage in Port Au Prince, Haiti.

Internationally, Dr. Forrester serves as the Curriculum Chair, for the KinesioTaping Association of the Americas: Board of Education. She continues to teach Kinesiotaping certification courses across the United States and Europe. She resides in NY with her husband and four children.

pesci_teresaTeresa Juodawlkis Pesci, MPT, CKTI,
 received her Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of California: San Francisco in 1994. She has worked at Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford in Palo Alto, California, the William Beaumont Rehab Center in Birmingham, Michigan, the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland, the University of Michigan – Visiting Nurses and at the Abilities Center, a branch of the Detroit Institute for Children. She is currently working for Kids in Motion. Her interest areas are the birth to three population, infant massage, yoga for the special child and therapeutic taping. She has practiced in the following settings: inpatient, acute rehab, PICU, outpatient, interdisciplinary clinics (NICU follow-up, Movement Disorders, Spina Bifida, Hemophilia, and JRA), school and home. While most of her career has focused on pediatrics, she has experience in treating everything from birth to geriatrics. Mrs. Pesci has been using a variety of taping practices throughout her career. She is a certified Kinesio Taping instructor through the Kinesio Taping Association.

wallis_jimJim Wallis, ATC, MS, CKTI. Jim Wallis graduated from Washington State University in 1983 and then received his Certified Athletic Trainer designation from NATA. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the school of Community Health and Head Athletic Trainer for Portland State University. He has been working with the Kinesio® Taping Method since first being introduced to the technique in Japan in the fall of 1994. Jim has led instructor workshops in the USA, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, and Australia. He has presented twice at the International Kinesio® Taping Association Symposium in Tokyo, Japan, and was recognized in 2000 for his distinguished service as an Instructor of the Kinesio® Taping Method. In 2003 he co-wrote Clinical and Therapeutic Applications of the Kinesio® Taping Method with Dr. Kenzo Kase and Tsuyoshi Kase. Recently, he began work in Japan on a DVD about combining the Kinesio® Taping Method with traditional athletic taping methods.

wolkenberg_andreaAndrea Wolkenberg, PT, MA, CKTI, MCMT
has been a practicing physical therapist for 35 years. She graduated in 1979 from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Allied Medical Professions with a Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy. She holds a Master’s degree in Medical Anthropology from the New School for Social Research in New York City. In 2001, Andrea became a Certified Kinesio Taping Instructor, and in 2012 she received her Mastery Certification in Manual Therapy from Hands On Seminars. Andrea has spent most of her career working in out-patient orthopedics and sub-acute and long term care. Her clinical expertise is in pain management and manual therapy, having taken numerous continuing education courses with James Cyriax, Laurence Jones, John Mennell, Shirley Sahrmann, Stanley Paris, John Barnes, and many others.

From 2004 to 2013, Andrea was the Director of Physical Therapy at Spine Options in White Plains, NY, specializing in the conservative treatment of back and neck pain. She is currently the President of SPINE SOLVERS INC., her own concierge physical therapy company which provides at home physical therapy services to individuals, injury prevention and workplace safety consultation to businesses, and expert witness services for legal cases involving physical therapists.
