KT3 Kinesio® Taping Coures - Clinical Concepts and Advanced Taping Methods (Pre-requisite, completion of KTA approved KT1 and KT2 courses) Upon completion, qualifies for KTA Level 3 Membership

KT 3 expands upon the information taught in KT 1 and 2.  KT3 includes review of basic techniques, an introduction to the basket weave application and a review of the corrective techniques with tape application guidelines. A variety of body assessments are completed with corresponding tapings as well as scar management taping. Lab sessions provide ample time to practice taping applications.

The focus of the afternoon session varies. Please check specific course date for specific agenda.

Note: Participants who successfully complete the required Fundamental and Advanced Kinesio Taping® (KT1, KT2, & KT3) courses are eligible to take the Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP) exam through the KinesioTaping Association (KTAI). Upon passing this exam with a score of 80% or better, practitioners will be granted the CKTP title along with all the associated rights and benefits.

 Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, including the lecture, demonstration and lab, the participant will be able to:

  • Explain and apply all the concepts of the Kinesio®Taping method including:
    • The tape qualities
    • The principles of application for muscles
    • The corrective techniques
  • Apply various taping techniques for the spine and upper/lower extremities
  • Apply Kinesio Tape appropriately for scar management
  • Have a basic understanding of the lymphatic system and how Kinesio Tape can be used to assist with edema reduction
  •  Have a basic understanding of pump points for edema reduction
  • Apply Kinesio Tape appropriately for edema reduction

CE Credits

8 contact hours for KT3

Accepted by many professional credentialing organizations and state professional regulatory boards. Check with your state board/credentialing agency to verify. Certificate of attendance will be issued to all participants upon completion of the course and may be used for CEU verification of credits. CE Credits vary by state. Please check with your state board/certifying agency to confirm conversion of contact hours to CE. See links below.

Physical Therapy Board of California: The Physical Therapy Board of California recognizes Rehab Education, LLC as an approval agency to approve providers offering continuing competency courses for CA licensed PTs and PTAs. This course is approved for 8 contact hours.

Delaware Examining Board of Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers: This course has been approved by the Delaware Examining Board of Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers.

Idaho Physical Therapy Board: This course has been approved by the Idaho Physical Therapy Board. Approval #5542.

Illinois State Board of Physical Therapy: Approved CE Sponsor by Illinois State Board of Physical Therapy, Division of Professional Regulations, #216.000227 for courses completed by 09-30-2012.

North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners: This course has been approved by virtue of Illinois CE Provider Approval #216.000227 for 8 contact hours. (Course must be completed by 09-30-2012).

NY State Physical Therapy Board: Rehab Education, LLC is recognized as an approved of PT and PTA continuing education by the NY State Education Department's Board of Physical Therapy provider for courses completed by 05-13-2013.

PA State Board Physical Therapy: This course has been approved by the Pennsylvania State Board Physical Therapy for 8 contact hours. Approval # PTCE001893. (Course must be completed by 12-31-2012).

NCBTM Approved Provider #451708-11 for courses completed by 08-05-2014: Rehab Education, LLC, is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider.

Graceann G. Forrester PT, DPT, CKTI is a New York State licensed Physical Therapist. She has earned Bachelor's degrees from College Miseracordia, Dallas PA and New York University. She completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy through Boston University.

In her 20 years of practice, Dr. Forrester has provided treatment programs for acute care patients, for community hospicare and youth correctional facilities. She has offered PT to elementary school children and taught clinical application classes for Ithaca College's Physical Therapy program, Ithaca, NY. She uses her Certifications as a KinesioTaping Instructor, Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor to develop training regimens for competitive athletes of all ages. As a Board Member of Hope Unites, an “international ecumenical organization specializing in humanitarian aid and disaster relief”, Dr. Forrester has offered educational programming to improve transportation and therapeutic positioning for children with disabilities at an orphanage in Port Au Prince, Haiti.

Internationally, Dr. Forrester serves as the Curriculum Chair, for the KinesioTaping Association –of the Americas: Board of Education. She continues to teach Kinesiotaping certification courses across the United States and Europe. She resides in NY with her husband and four children.
