This course will teach the basic Kinesio® Taping concepts and applications along with the deep tissue technique of myofascial release (MFR).
By combining these two clinical tools, clients make rapid improvement in their status. Outcomes have reflected reduced therapy sessions with permanent improvement as well as the client’s ability to self-manage their condition with the tape use.
Through hands-on experience in lab sessions, the participant will experience combining both techniques for common orthopedic problems.
Program subject to change. Participants are cautioned to apply new information and skills within the scope of state licensure law.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the program, participants will be able to:
- recognize the history of kinesio® tape
- identify the four basic concepts of kinesio® tape.
- demonstrate how to manipulate the tape and identify its stretch properties.
- diffentiate and identify the i to o and o to i methods of application.
- recognize the anatomy of fascia and its influence on the body.
