This entry-level one-day workshop is designed for therapists with little to no training in the soft tissue treatment technique of myofascial release (MFR).

The majority of the course is a hands-on lab session.  This enables participants to see and feel the direct results of their treatment.  Application to specific diagnoses and critical thinking decision-making is included within the lab sessions.

Because of this combination of  “practice” and critical thinking approach, participants leave with confidence to begin using basic treatment techniques upon returning to their clinics.

The strength of the course is having an instructor who is extensively trained in myofascial release who has used and adapted it for 12 years to clinical situations passing on these “pearls” of in depth clinical usage to participants. Comprehensive course manual with pictures, application and contraindications is provided to each participant.

Program subject to change. Participants are cautioned to apply new information and skills within the scope of state licensure law.

 Course Objectives:

As a result of this course the participants will be able to:

  • recognize postural mal-alignments and their effect on the body and fascial system
  • perform superficial and deep mfr techniques on the trunk and upper extremities
  • identify indications and contraindications for MFR use
  • recognize the fascial system
  • demonstrate improved proprioceptive skills when palpating the fascial system
  • identify how to incorporate mfr techniques into neuro and ortho treatment conditions
