Chapter 18: Splinting the Pediatric Patient

- identify one commonly used type of splint for the elbow, forearm, wrist and hand of the pediatric patient
- list the most commonly used materials to construct UE pediatric splints and describe the characteristics of the materials
- describe 2 methods for decorating the pediatric splint
- describe 2 creative ways to adapt strapping for the pediatric splint
- describe adaptation recommended for 3 different splints included in the fabrication section of the chapter
