Chapter 3: Pain
This chapter discusses three different types of pain:  acute, chronic, and referred pain.  Mechanisms of pain reception and transmission are explained in depth with pain modulation and control.  Measuring and documenting pain strategies are described.  Three pain management approaches: pharmacological, physical agent modalities and treatment programs are shared.  The chapter concludes with two case studies for acute and chronic pain patients with suggested treatment plans.
