Twilight Refresher: Basics of Hand SPlinting
Back to "UE and Post Surgical Splinting"
For occupational therapists, physical therapists, hand therapists, and OT/PT assistants with basic splinting skills. A basic knowledge of splint fabrication is required.
Program:
Optional, twilight, pre-workshop hands-on splinting refresher course -- designed for the less experienced splint maker who would like to brush up on splinting techniques and material handling skills before beginning the intensive weekend workshops "Splinting for the Upper Extremity " and "Mobilization and Immobilization Splinting for the Upper Extremity". In order to attend "Basics of Hand Splinting" you must also register for "Splinting for the Upper Extremity " and "Mobilization and Immobilization Splinting for the Upper Extremity" (same weekend, same location). This refresher course is a hands-on splinting lab session only!
Learn to fabricate:
- 3 variations of a hand based spica splint
- 3 variations of a wrist extension splint
- volar pan resting splint
Please bring along splinting scissors, small goniometer and a tape measure, small pliers, and flat head screwdriver-- labeled with your name.
